Teosinte is a grass that grows wild in central America and includes several different very similar species. Over the course of t

housands of years, the farmers of central American carefully culled undesirable offspring and cross bred various teosinte species ultimately developing Zea mays or what we usually call corn. Which of the following statements is true regarding this process?
Select one:
a. This is not an example of evolution because humans did the selection process.
b. It would be possible to carefully select modern corn plants to ultimately wind up with teosinte.
c. The artificial selection applied by humans caused mutations in teosinte leading to the development of corn.

Answer:

Which of the following statements is true regarding this process?

Select one:

a. This is not an example of evolution because humans did the selection process.

 Explanation:

This is not an example of evolution this is called domestication of plants by humans to adap wild organisms to fulfill its needs, and it is achieved by the process of artificial selection, croping individuals with larger and more nutritious fruits, and these plants seeds would fall to the ground attached to the cob, germinating at the same time and place and  without human assistance and care they would not survive.

Which of these hormones increases ca++ concentration and slightly decreases phosphate ion concentration in the blood?
S_A_V [24]
Parathyroid   hormones (PTH)   increases the        Ca++  concentration  and slightly   decreases   phosphate  ion concentration  in the blood.
When   Parathyroid  hormone increases, the body  release  more  calcium   from  bones into  blood    which  lead to the increase  in calcium concentration in  the blood.
The  parathyroid  hormone increase  in the other hand  led to slightl
y  decrease  in phosphate  ions since   it reduces  the reabsorption  of phosphate    from  proximal  tubule   of the kidney

Megan observes four cells under a microscope and makes sketches of them as shown. Identify whether the cells are prokaryotic or
posledela
I cannot found the images of the microscopy anywhere. But I can explain how you can differentiate a procaryote from a eucaryote under a microscope.

The first difference between them is the size of the cell. eucaryotes are generally much bigger than procaryotes. Procaryotes are visible only at x100 objective, but eucaryotes are visible starting from the x10 zoom.

The second difference is the presence of a nucleus in eukaryotes and the absence of it in procaryotes.

The third difference is the presence of organelles in eukaryotes and the presence of a cell wall in procaryotes (only visible at electronic microscopy).
