Which statement is most true concerning carbon in sediments and rocks? hey receive the same amount from the ocean as they releas
Rus_ich [418]

The statement that is most true concerning carbon in sediments and rock is that THEY HOLD ALL OF THEIR CARBON AS OPPOSED TO RELEASING IT.

Carbon as an element is store in sediments in form of organic matter and in carbonate rocks in form of limestone. Carbon is primarily derived from the interior of the earth. The carbon in the earth is recycle through the carbon cycle. Rocks and sediments are part of the carbon cycle, but one thing that is peculiar about them is that they typically hold all their carbon.
