A major range of the North American mountains that run northwest and southeast to the western Mexico, along the Gulf of California and is apart of the cordillera.
This mountain range act as a source of water for the agricultural land and geologically is high plateau and a volcanic rock composed of the plutonic and sediments, formed by the lava flows.
Thus zone forms an extension of the northern Sonora stat, near the Mexico and the U.S border. This high plateau is cut by the running rivers. The highest place of elevation is known as the Tarahumara range.
