Hello!

Ok so we have y= 7/3x + 5 and initial condition of x=-3 so we just plug -3 in for x and chug along at this point! :)

y=(7/3)*(-3/1)+5= -7+5 = -2

Hope this helps! Any questions please just ask! Thank you!!

What is the distance between (–9,-6) and (-2,-2)?
Rufina [12.5K]

Answer:

8.0623

Explanation:

Distance between two points =  √ ( − 2  −  −  9 )^ 2 + ( − 2  −  −  6)^ 2

=  √ 7 ^2+ 4 ^2

= √ 49 +  16

=√ 65  = 8.0623

Distance between points (-9, -6) and (-2, -2) is 8.0623

The radius of a sphere is measured to be 3.0 inches. If the measurement is correct within 0.01 inches, use differentials to esti
Zarrin [17]

Answer:

ΔV = 0.36π   in³

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

The radius of a sphere = 3.0

If the measurement is correct within 0.01 inches

i.e the change in the radius Δr = 0.01

The objective is to use differentials to estimate the error in the volume of sphere.

We all know that the volume of a sphere

V =  \dfrac{4}{3} \pi r^3

The differential of V with respect to r is:

\dfrac{dV}{dr }= 4 \pi r^2

dV = 4 πr² dr

which can be re-written as:

ΔV = 4 πr² Δr

ΔV = 4 × π × (3)² × 0.01

ΔV = 0.36π   in³

The area of a triangle is found by multiplying half of the measure of its base by its height. The area of the following right tr
GarryVolchara [31]

Answer:

\sf Area\:of\:a\:triangle=\dfrac12 \times base \times height

Given:

  • area = 18 cm²
  • base = 6 cm
  • height = (h + 1) cm

Substitute the given values into the equation and solve for h:

\sf \implies 18 = \sf \dfrac12 \times 6 \times (h+1)

\sf \implies 18 = \sf \dfrac62 (h+1)

\sf \implies 18 =3(h+1)

expand using distributive property of addition a(b+c)=ab+ac:

\sf \implies 18=3h+3

subtract 3 from both sides:

\sf \implies 3h=15

divide both sides by 3:

\sf \implies h=5

<u>To verify</u>:

Half of the base is 3 cm.

If h=5, then the height of the triangle is 6 cm.

Multiplying 3 by 6 is 18.

This matches the given area, so we can verify that h = 5.
