Confucius's ethical code of conduct is characterised by a promotion of vitures called the Five Constants: benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, and fidelity.
<em>Benevolence</em> is the moral practice of concern for happiness of all living beings.
<em>Righteousness</em> is the sensibility and moral obligation to do good.
<em>Propriety</em> refers to loyalty and respect between one another.
<em>Wisdom</em> is the innate knowledge by which one understands right and wrong.
<em>Fidelity</em> refers to honesty, and that one's deeds matches their words.
