I am Estela from the United States. Growing up, my grandma used to tell me about weddings in the Dominican Republic. Before the

wedding, the bride and groom would see each other and used to take pictures. This wasn't considered bad luck in the Dominican Republic, but in America, it is. When the ceremony started at the church, a relative would go to the altar and bring thirteen coins. The thirteen coins represented that the bride and the groom shared everything. Then, the members of the family sang during the ceremony. At the reception, the guests danced to merengue and ate Dominican-style tamales. What would be different if Estela's wedding were to be a more traditional or typical American wedding?

Answer: The bride and groom would not be aloud to see each other, first of all. Other than that, there is nothing especially different, apart from the few culture changes (maybe not tamales, but instead a more american style of chips, or fruit)
