United states - Philippines.  After being a Spain colony for a long time,  the Philippines became a <em>USA colony.</em>

France - Indochina. It was a French colony since France established the colony of <em>French Indochina</em>.

Great Britain - Singapore - it defended Great Britain in the WW II.

The Netherlandas (Dutch) - Indonesia. With the <em>Dutch Ethical Policy</em>, the Netherlands intended to improve the living conditions and health in the island.

Explanation: On the Western Front, the war was fought by soldiers in trenches. Trenches were long, narrow ditches dug into the ground where soldiers lived. They were very muddy, uncomfortable and the toilets overflowed. These conditions caused some soldiers to develop medical problems such as trench foot.

Soldiers in the First World War did not spend the whole of the time in the trenches. The British Army worked on a 16 day timetable. Each soldier usually spent eight days in the front line and four days in the reserve trench. Another four days were spent in a rest camp that was built a few miles away from the fighting.

It's Odysseus and not Ulysses if this is Greek mythology (hence Zeus). That Greek God is Hermes, or Mercury if in Roman mythology (hence ulysses). Use Mercury or Hermes depending if it's Roman or Greek mythology. Determine which one is which as your question mixes the mythologies up.
