Answer:

The Annexation of Hawaii by the United States took place on July 4, 1898, when President William McKinley signed an agreement on the annexation of Hawaii, but it was not ratified by the Senate due to the 38,000 petition dissenting signatures of the Hawaiian population. On August 12 of the same year, a ceremony was held at the Iolani Palace in Hawaii to mark the official transfer of Hawaiian sovereignty to the United States.

Now, several arguments against were raised against this political movement. On the one hand, it was a sovereign nation, with its own culture and idiosyncrasy, which had nothing to do with American culture. On the other, annexation was based on the will of a power group with strong connections to the United States, but which did not represent the will of the Hawaiian people. Therefore, it was in a way an illegitimate act that curtailed the sovereignty of a country and the will of its inhabitants.

Hawaii is an American territory that makes up one of the states in the USA, its capital is Honolulu.

As you may already know, Hawaii was annexed to the United States in an agreement that did not please many people and that encourage, to this day, groups to fight for the separation of the states. These groups have arguments against the annexation of the state to the American territory, some of these arguments are:

  • Attaching Hawaii to the American territory is unconstitutional, since it was done only to strengthen the dominance of the USA.
  • The population was not consulted, so there was no diplomatic agreement.
  • Hawaii has no military strength to help the United States.
  • Hawaii does not have an economy strong enough to help the United States, but it has enough economy to maintain itself.
  • Attaching Hawaii, presents a very high economic expense for the USA, and a very small benefit.

During World War I, the Russian army was
Leno4ka [110]

Answer:

pretty sure it was large, whether or not it was ill prepared to fight is up for debate. It's been a few years since I revised this, but I'm pretty sure that during the Schleiffen plan the German army relied on the Russians being too slow to defend themselves, however they were quicker than expected? due to this and the sheer size of the army itself I would say d, large and well prepared to fight. They were large enough that even if they were awful in combat they would still be a force to be reckoned with, as they could afford to supply men after men without running out, unlike the German army.
