d prevents transcription. a sugar, such as lactose, acts as an inducer and combines with the repressor to prevent transcription. an inducer activates the activator so that it binds to DNA and prevents transcription. an amino acid binds to the operator, blocking the repressor, allowing transcription to proceed.

Answer:

An amino acid activates the repressor so that the repressor binds to the operator and prevents transcription.

Explanation:

In an operon, promoter is followed by operator which is finally followed by the structural genes to be transcribed. RNA Polymerase binds to the promoter and initiates transcription. A repressor can negatively control the transcription process by binding to the operator so that the RNA Polymerase is not able to move forward and transcription is halted.

For example: in trp operon, tryptophan amino acid binds to the repressor molecule which leads to change in repressor's shape. The repressor is now able to bind to the operator and prevent transcription.

irga5000 [103]

Antibodies are located in human body, and they are giant protein molecules.

What are antibodies?

Antibodies are protein molecules, they are large and are used by the immune system to identify objects that are foreign such as harmful microrganism.

They can also destroy the effect of this foreign body by identifying the pathogens antigens.

Therefore, antibodies are giant protein molecules.

If a pink snapdragon is self-fertilized, the offspring are red, pink, or white. What type of inheritance pattern does flower col
BaLLatris [955]

The type of inheritance pattern flower color exhibited in this example is incomplete domination (Intermediate).

What is meant by incomplete dominance?

Incomplete dominance or partial dominance is gene expression in offspring based on phenotypic observations that mediate from crosses of parents with different and contrasting characters.

Why intermediate traits can appear in an individual?

An intermediate trait occurs when both heirs are equally strong. The two inheritors of nature are neither closed nor covered. On the other hand, the parents will cover each other because they are just as strong. Offspring with intermediate traits will carry the same combination of traits from both parents.
