Answer:

2. WRAP is to PRESENT as swaddle is to INFANT.

3. Obvious is to NOTICEABLE as ELDERLY is to OLD.

4. SWIMMING POOL is to RECREATION as  moat is to PROTECTION

5.OCEAN is to SEA as EMBARRASSMENT is to humiliation.

6. GARBAGE is to  debris as PLAYTHING is to TOY.

7. PRAISE is to  ridicule as BUILD is to DESTROY.

8. Temporary is to PERMANENT as COMMON is to UNUSUAL.

Explanation:

An analogy is comparing two things so you are looking for a relationship.

In 2, the relationship is the manner in which you put the first thing around the second thing. As you would wrap a present, so would you swaddle a baby.

In 3, the relationship is synonyms.

In 4, the relationship is the purpose of the first thing. The purpose of a swimming pool is recreation, the purpose of a moat is protection.

In 5, the relationship is similar things. An ocean is a body of water, so is a sea. Embarrassment and humiliation are synonyms.

In 6, the relationship is again similar things. Garbage and debris are synonyms, as are plaything and toy.

In 7, the relationship is opposites. Praise and ridicule are antonyms and so are build and destroy

In 8, the relationship is again opposites. Temporary and permanent are antonyms and so are common and unusual.

Katen [24]
Context clues, tone, and word choice
Why:
Context clues can help you look around the word to figure out it’s meaning
Tone can help you decide if the word is positive or negative
And word choice can help you also look and see if the phrase the character is saying is good or bad and context it with the word to determine the meaning
Hope this helps and brainliest would mean a lot :)

Score: 0incorrect the language of a particular profession or group is known as: slang idiom jargon dialect
masha68 [24]
Right off the bat you can cross out idiom off the list, which leaves us down to slang, jargon and dialect. It isn't very likely it's dialect since that refers more to regional language or a specific group of persons. Now we are down to two possible answers, slang and jargon. Slang is categorized as very informal and is not connected to a particular group or profession. I'm not sure which English you are in but jargon is one of the rhetorical devices learned in AP Language and Literature. To be more specific, jargon IS the language which is involved with a particular group or profession. For example, in terms of running some jargon could be "fartlek" and "strides".
