Why were eyes painted on the outside of the coffin?

English
1 answer:
vodomira [7]3 years ago

According to ancient Egyptian belief the deceased could see through the coffin, they placed eyes in the same position where they would usually sit on the deceased because after they died they eyes would decay so they could no longer tell where they were.

They were basically painted there so that the eyes would be more easily located after the person had died.

Why isn’t this research question effective? Check all that apply. It is not about a researchable topic. It has a single answer.
vladimir2022 [97]

The research question "Is recycling effective in the United States?" isn't effective because:

 • It is too broad
 • It is not specific enough.

What is a research question?

A research question refers to a question on which the whole research is based. While framing a research question the researcher must consider that the question is neither too broad nor too narrow to answer.

The question must be specific and should be capable of giving an opinion.

The given question is too broad as it covers a variety of aspects and to precisely answer this question is difficult. Also, the question doesn't specify the intention of the research.

Therefore the correct options are c and g.

Mark Twain once advised that writers should “use the right word, not its second cousin.” How is this advice related to the use o
nadya68 [22]
Even though synonyms generally share the same meaning, they might not apply in the same context. So, if you want to use one specific word you should do that instead of trying to find a synonym that doesn't quite fit into the context you've established. An example is if you want to use the sentence "I was mad", meaning "I was angry", you could look for a synonym. One synonym is "absurd". However, this is a different type of mad, meaning crazy instead of meaning angry. "I was absurd" has an entirely different meaning than originally intended. This is why you should always double check the contextual meaning of the synonym you want to use.
