The correct answer is A: "Solidify the Union by making the U.S. a stronger nation."

During the time between the establishment of the Thirteen Colonies and the time after the American Revolution pre-dating the War of 1812, most Americans felt a much stronger allegiance towards their colony/state than the one they felt towards the United States as a nation. For revolutionaries and other fellow Americans, the term "my country" could either refer to the colony/state they had been born and lived in or to the United States.

As the Americans managed to fight the British in spite of the initial heavy losses and the destruction of the capital, Washington, D.C., a new sense of country/nation emerged and Americans from different states would be able to see beyond their local priorities and begin to understand and accept plans, projects and priorities intended to benefit the nation as a whole.

Answer:

This advice to President Harry Truman helped influence Truman's decision to develop the Marshall Plan.

Explanation:

On April 3th, 1948, Truman signed the Cooperation Act which was based on George C. Marshall's ideas: If America wanted to set a world order in which democracy and market economy were not threatened, it was necessary to help European Nations which were still free from Soviet influence to recover from the disaster caused by WWII.

European nations enthusiastically attached to the plan and collaborated from the start. This act gave origin to the European Recovery Program, also known as the Marshall Plan.

Why is the Yellow River (Huang He River) sometimes referred to as "China's sorrow" in Chinese history?
igor_vitrenko [27]
The nickname "China's Sorrow" memorializes the millions that have been killed during the Huang He River's many diversions and floods. Most notably, in June 1938, the Nationalist Chinese Army used the river to block the Japanese army, killing an estimated 800,000 Chinese citizens and very few Japanese soldiers.

Which is a precept of monotheism? a. Meditation is necessary to achieve harmony with God. b. A supreme god fights against evil i
Tcecarenko [31]
A - I don't think so. Meditation is necessary to achieve harmony with ourselves and/or the Universe (may be understood as God itself), but it's not crucial part of monotheism.

B - May be, but it's not always like that. Like in Christianity - there's a supreme god, but he doesn't fight against evil. Indeed he can get angry and punish people for the evil they make (the Great Flood is the greatest symbol of that)

C - It's common for nearly all religions as it helps keep people's faith under control, but still I don't think it's crucial for monotheism

D - Definitely yes - if there's one god, people should live in peace with him and do everything they can to make him happy.

So I'd rather pick only one answer - D.
