Answer: Part A = \dfrac{2}{3}

Part B = 12

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Total number of classmate surveyed = 18

Proportion of people said yes ,they prefer granola bars over muffins = 0.66666667

Since 6 is repeating after decimal , so we can write this value as 0.\overline{6}

Let x= 0.666....     (1)

Multiply 10 on both sides , we get

10x=6.666...       (2)

Subtract (1) from (2), we get

9x=6

Divide 9 on both sides , we get

x=\dfrac{2}{3}

Thus , the required fraction in Part A = \dfrac{2}{3}

The number of students prefer granola bars over muffins will be :-

\dfrac{2}{3}\times18=12

Hence, 12 students prefer granola bars over muffins.

Thus , the required answer for Part b = 12

Move the decimal so there is one non-zero digit to the left of the decimal point. The number of decimal places you move will be the exponent on the 10 . If the decimal is being moved to the right, the exponent will be negative. If the decimal is being moved to the left, the exponent will be positive.

Jennifer is flying her kite and I get stuck in a tree. She knows the string on her coat is 17 feet long and she is 7 feet from t
babunello [35]

Answer:

15.5 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Find attached to this answer the appropriate diagram.

We would be using the Pythagoras Theorem to solve this question

The formula is given as:

a² + b² = c²

Where a = opposite side

b  = adjacent side

c = hypotenuse

From the question,

a = opposite side =  unknown

b  = adjacent side = 7 feet

c = hypotenuse = 17 feet

We are to find the opposite side

Using the formula

a² + b² = c²

a² = c² - b²

a² = 17 feet² - 7 feet ²

a² = 289 feet² - 49 feet²

a² = 240 feet²

a = √240 feet²

a = 15.491933385 feet

Approximately 15.5 feet

Therefore, the kite is 15.5 feet high up in the tree.

An arithmetic sequence is a linear function whose domain is restricted to the set of non-negative integers.
Tom [10]
<h3>What is sequence ?</h3>
  • A sequence is a set of the objects or numbers in a specific order.
  • It is a function whose domain is a set of natural numbers or non-negative integers i.e. {1, 2, 3,..}
  • Sequence and series is one of the basic topics in Arithmetic.
  • An itemized collection of elements in which repetitions of any sort are allowed is known as a sequence, whereas series is the sum of all elements.
  • An arithmetic progression is one of the common examples of sequence and series.

"An arithmetic sequence is a linear function whose domain is restricted to the set of non-negative integers."

The general form an arithmetic sequence is:

       a_{n} = a_{1} + (n- 1) d

  • The function is linear.
  • The sequence consists of either numbers that are increasing or decreasing based on the value of d, the common difference.

So, the statement provided is True.
