Which two lines in the poem indicate its theme?

English
2 answers:
Ronch [10]3 years ago

The following two verses express the poem théme:

"Be comforted; the world is very old,

And generations pass, as they have passed."

This poem is from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882), an American poet whose verses are still being recovered by young generations.

The poem theme is time as the factor which separates life and death. That´s why we can read in the first verses:

"if I were dead,

What would befall these children?".

Actually it is "And generations pass, as they have passed" and "thousands of times has the old tale has been told".

How can fiction reveal the truth
Law Incorporation [45]

Answer:

What is a novelist's obligation to the truth? The very word fiction implies untruth. When children read or hear a story that frightens them, they're told not to worry because “it's not true.” But for many stories to work, one has to suspend disbelief. So the essence of a novel appears to be something dishonest.

Question 3 of 5
nika2105 [10]

Answer:

C.

Explanation:

The summary provided in the question of the given passage can be considered weak because it does not cover the main idea of the passage. The summary mentions only one detail from the passage, which makes the summary weak.

A summary is a short description of something that covers all the main point. But in the given summary, only one detail is given, and only supporting detail. The given summary does not cover the main points of the passage.

Therefore, option C is correct.
