Which two lines in the poem indicate its theme?

English
2 answers:
Ronch [10]3 years ago
4 0

The following two verses express the poem théme:

"Be comforted; the world is very old,

And generations pass, as they have passed."

This poem is from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882), an American poet whose verses are still being recovered by young generations.

The poem theme is time as the factor which separates life and death. That´s why we can read in the first verses:

"if I were dead,

What would befall these children?".

Actually it is "And generations pass, as they have passed" and "thousands of times has the old tale has been told".

Hope it helps homies.

II. Rewrite the following sentences in passive form (3%)
mixer [17]

Answer:

1. Chaltu's name was changed by Bona

2. The novel was read by mom in one day.

3. The classroom was painted by Bikila

Explanation:

When writing a sentence in active form, the subject of the sentence acts on the verb while in the passive form, the subject receives the action.

Using the first example for instance, the subject is "Bona" and in active voice, it is written thus: "Bona changed Chaltu's name" with the subject "Bona" acting on the subject "Chaltu's name".

Meanwhile, in the passive form, the subject "Bona" is the receiver of the action, thus: "Chaltu's name was changed by Bona"
