The Tempietto del Bramante dates back to 1502, and it was erected as a “martyrium” to remember the execution of St. Peter. Below the round room there is a crypt, where a plaque on the floor protects the hole that was supposedly left from the cross of St. Peter.

The building was ordered by the Spanish royal family because of a vow made for the birth of their first son, John, who dies in 1497.

When congress doesn't approve a president's choice for a federal court, this is an example of _________.
satela [25.4K]

Answer:

D. checks and balances

Explanation:

The Separation of Powers Theory, also known as the Checks and Balances System, represents one of the most relevant constitutional principles in the United States and in many other countries. This system points out that each sphere of power of a country (federal power, state power and municipal power) should balance between autonomy and intervention in the other powers. Thus, each power could not be disrespected in the functions it was supposed to perform. At the same time, when one of them was overly authoritarian or extrapolated his assignments, the other powers would have the right to intervene against such an inharmonious situation.

For this reason, when Congress does not approve the choice of a president for a federal court, this is an example of Checks and balances.

Why was Alice Paul such a significant woman during the Progressive Era?
boyakko [2]

Answer:

The correct answer is B. Alice Paul was a significant woman during the Progressive Era because she was the leader of the suffrage movement's most militant wing and proposed an Equal Rights Amendment in 1920.

Explanation:

Alice Stokes Paul was an American feminist activist, who led the campaign for the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Paul thought of the struggle for suffrage with radical measures and forms, far from the moderation of the National Woman's Suffrage Association. In addition, her sole objective was to reform the Constitution, instead of carrying out state-by-state referendums. She was expelled from the association in 1916 and founded the National Women's Party, with which she continued her activism for more than half a century.

After obtaining the approval and ratification of the Nineteenth Aendment to the Constitution in 1920, Paul continued to work in the international arena under the World Women's Party, which among other things achieved the inclusion of women's rights in the Charter of the United Nations. In addition, the activist promoted the inclusion of a protection for women in the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and was the author of the Equal Rights Amendment, which was approved by Parliament but failed to ratify enough states to become effective.
