First of all, you figure out that -4 < 3, so you use the first function definition. Then you put -4 wherever you see x.
.. f(-4) = (-4)^2 -5
.. = 16 -5
.. f(-4) = 11

the other part:

x ≥ 200/2.50

x ≥ 80

Therefore,

the possible length of the dog run is 80 feet
