Lincoln was very strongly against slavery, and slavery was a favoured view at that time. People in the South were upset about him winning because they liked slavery. However the North wanted to abolish slavery.
Japanese-American citizens were denied their rights and sent to internment camps, as the government believed that some of them were working with the Japanese government, and could feed intel back to them. At the end of the war, however, these citizens were released.
The answer should be the first one : a return to normalcy and isolationism. The reason for this is because they wanted to keep out of foreign affairs from there on out.
