Sure... a good example of that is when you have non-linear expressions in the system, like say for example a linear and a quadratic, like y = 4x and y = x².

recall that for a system of equations, where the graph of both equations intersect, is the solutions, check the picture below.

How would I solve I need to know Asap and what is the answer
Elanso [62]

Answer:

A) 5

Step-by-step explanation:

distance = √(distance between x coordinates² + distance between y coordinates²)

the horizontal distance between the two points is 4

the vertical distance between the two points is 3

to prove this, if you started at Q and went 4 points right and then 3 points up, you would get to P

distance = √(4²+3²) = √25 = 5

The slope, m, of a linear equation can be found using the formula m = StartFraction y 2 minus y a Over x 2 minus x 1 EndFraction
ExtremeBDS [4]

Answer: Third option.

Step-by-step explanation:

By definition, the slope of a line can be calculated with the following formula:

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Since you need to solve for y_2 to find an equivalent expression, you can apply these steps:

1. You must multiply both sides of the equation by (x_2-x_1):

m(x_2-x_1})=(\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1})(x_2-x_1})\\\\m(x_2-x_1})=y_2-y_1

2. Finally, you must add y_1 to both sides of the equation:

m(x_2-x_1})+y_1=y_2-y_1+y_1\\\\y_2=m(x_2-x_1})+y_1
