White light is the name given to what the human eye sees when all the colors that make up the visible light spectrum are combined. The visible light spectrum is composed of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet light, and these colors combined produce white illumination.
When shining through a prism, the white lights are divided into colors separate from the visible light spectrum.
