O’Keeffe tends to do more abstract versions of natural form and a lot of her paintings consist of bright colours or browns , reds , yellows and shades. She tends to use oil paint . In a lot of her art pieces she paints skulls in the desert , the skulls are painted in a realistic style however she will either place the skull somewhere unusual or have another unusual object beside the skull .
