The allies used the strategy of island hopping in the Pacific.

They would take over an island and setup a military base. Then the base would be used as a launching place to attack and take over small islands that weren't defended well. It was also known as leapfrogging because they would go from island to island taking them over.

It expressed the spirit and meaning that United States was destined by God and by its history, to expand its dominion and spread democracy and capitalism across the entire North American continent so as to get as much land as possible. As a result,  millions of Americans began to migrate westward in search of new lands as well as opportunities.
