To find the desired width we need to solve the equation:
\frac{9}{12}=\frac{x}{6}
\frac{3}{4}=\frac{x}{6}
x=\frac{3*6}{4}=\frac{18}{4}=\frac{9}{2}=4.5

So, the new window will be 4.5 feet wide.

Use the change of base formula to compute log5 9.
Mekhanik [1.2K]
Let log₅9 = x
Then
5ˣ = 9

Take log to base 10 of both sides.
log₁₀5ˣ = log₁₀9
x log₁₀5 = log₁₀9

Therefore
log₅9 = log₁₀9/log₁₀5

A man paid $101 for 2 pairs of trousers and 3 shirts . He found that 7 pairs of trousers and 3 shirts would cost $331. Find the
IrinaVladis [17]

Answer:

The cost of a pair of trousers and a shirt is $46 and $3 respectively.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us assume the pairs of trousers be X

And, the pairs of trousers be Y

So, the first equation is

2X + 3Y = $101

And, the second equation is

7X + 3Y = $331

Now substituting this two equations

2X + 3Y = $101

7X + 3Y = $331

-5X = -$230

X = $46

Now put the X values in one of the equation to find out the Y value

So,

2 × $46  + 3Y = $101

$92 + 3Y = $101

Y = $3
