The sum of 12 and x squared is

12+x^2

Half that sum is

\dfrac{1}{2}(12+x^2)

If we decrease this quantity by 1/3 x we have

\dfrac{1}{2}(12+x^2) - \dfrac{1}{3}x

A man walks 10 miles in x hours. How far does he walk in one hour?
Andreas93 [3]

Answer:

Option  (c) is correct.

The distance covered by the man in 1 hour is represented by te expression  \frac{10}{x} miles.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: A man walks 10 miles in x hours.

We have to choose a correct  expression that represents the distance covered by the man in 1 hour.

Consider the given statement."A man walks 10 miles in x hours."

Using UNITARY METHOD,

(is a method in which we first find the value of a single unit and then multiply it with desired quantity)

Distance covered by man in x hours = 10 miles,

So distance covered by man in 1 hour = \frac{10}{x} miles.

So, The distance covered by the man in 1 hour is represented by te expression  \frac{10}{x} miles.

Need help with this please!!!
BARSIC [14]
I don't like dividing polynomials so I'm going to set x=1 and try them out.

(1-2-14+3)/4 = -3

Of the choices, only D gives -3 when x=1

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That's as much test-taking as math.  If we were to divide
             x^2 - 5x + 1
          -------------------------------
x + 3 |   x^3 - 2x^2 - 14x + 3
             x^3 + 3x^2
                      -5x^2 - 14x
                       5x^2 + 15x
                                      x + 3
                                      x + 3
More work, still choice D
<h3>Linear equation</h3>
A linear equation is in the form:
y = mx + b
where y, x are variables, m is the slope of the line and m is the y intercept.
Let y represent the total cost of hiring for x hours. Hence:
  • Using the points (0, 125) and (15, 950)
Slope = \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1} =\frac{950-125}{15-0} =55
The rate of change is $55 per hour. The means that the hourly rate of the designer is $55 per hour
