Let x be the mark he would attain at the fifth exam. Then,

\frac{56+70+61+46+x}{5} \geq 70

\frac{273+x}{5} \geq 70

273 + x ≥ 350

x ≥ 350 - 273

x ≥ 77

So, he should score 77 or more marks in his fifth exam.

AVprozaik [17]

The length of hours Gilbert drove is 7.5 hours.

The length of hours Brian drove is 4.1 hours.

<u>Step-by-step explanation</u>:

  • Gilbert averaged = 45 miles per hour
  • Brain averaged = 65 miles per hour
  • Total hours = 11.6 hours
  • Total distance = 604 miles

Let 'x' be the hours Gilbert drove.

Let 'y' be the hours Brian drove.

x+y = 11.6  -----(1)

45x+65y = 604 -----(2)

Multiply (1) by 45 and subtract (2) from (1)

 45x+45y = 522

-(<u>45x+65y = 604</u>)

 <u>      -20y = -82 </u>

y = 82/20

y = 4.1 hours

The length of hours Brian drove = 4.1 hours

Substitute y=4.1 in (1)

x+4.1 = 11.6

x = 7.5 hours

The length of hours Gilbert drove = 7.5 hours

Consider he following table. Does the table represent a function? Why or why not?
Damm [24]
This is considered a function because each input has a different output. For example, a certain x value doesnt equal 2 different y values, making this a function. Take this: if there is (2,4) and (3,4), this is a function because although the y values are the same, the x values are different. (2,3) and (2,4) do not convey a function because the x values are the same, but each has a different y value.
hope this helped!!!

What is the square root of -1
Romashka [77]

Answer:

i

Step-by-step explanation:

Now, before you think I'm just stealing points, let me explain. The square root of a number is the number that, if you multiply it by itself, it equals that number. The square root of 4 is 2, because 2 * 2 = 4.

Also, a negative number times another negative number, is a positive number. -2 * -2 = 4

With both of those true, then what number could be multiplied by itself to equal a negative number? i.

i is a weird number that I don't really know how to explain all that well. I am sorry, but that is all that I can give you. i is very complex and has various different equivalents, and different meanings, but i is equal to \sqrt{-1}.

Hope that this helps!
