In this order...80%, 95%, 33 1/3%, 15%

The first one is right and the third one is right, but you need to switch the 15% and the 95%.

In #2, it's asking for the kids that <em>are not</em> Michael, so it'd be 18/19. Which is then rounded to roughly 95%.

#4 asks for 6/40 = 15%

If the dimensions of a pentagonal prism are quadrupled, then the surface area of the prism is multiplied by eight.
Lubov Fominskaja [6]

Answer:

false

Step-by-step explanation:

the relationship between lengths/dimensions and areas is that areas are created by multiplying 2 dimensions.

when you quadruple (×4) the dimensions, then the areas are growing with the square of the factor (×4×4 = ×16), because the factor goes twice into the multiplication : one time for every dimension involved.

so, quadrupling the dimensions would multiply the areas by 16.

A merry go around has a radius of 18 ft. If a passenger gets on a horse located at the edge of the wheel and travels 38ft, find
kipiarov [429]

Answer:

121 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Radius r = 18ft

Length of the arc = 38ft

Required

angle of rotation

Using the formula

Length of an arc = theta/360 * 2πr

Substitute the given data

38 = theta/360 * 2π(18)

38 = theta/360 * 113.04

theta/360 = 38/113.04

theta/360 = 0.33616

theta = 0.33616 * 360

theta = 121.02

Hence the angle of rotation to the nearest degree is 121 degrees

Katie has a collection of nickels dimes and quarters with a total value of $4.20 there are 7 more dimes than nickels and six mor
Aneli [31]
Katie, Let the number of nickles = N Since there are 7 more dimes than nickles, the number of dimes D = N + 7 Since there are 4 more quarters than nickles, the number of quarters Q = N + 4 Since quarters = $0.25, dimes = $0.10, and nickles = $0.05 and all added together = $4.90 ⇒  0.25·Q + 0.10·D + 0.05·N = 4.90 Now multiply through by 100 to eliminate the decimal: 25Q + 10D + 5N = 490 Substitute for Q and D 25(N+4) + 10(N+7) + 5N = 490 25N + 10N + 5N +100 +70 = 490 40N + 170 = 490 ⇒ 40N = 320 ⇒ N = 320/40 N = 8, D = N+7 = 15 Q = N+4 = 12 Check: 25(12) + 10(15) + 5(8) = 300 + 150 + 40 = 490

The rate of change in the number of bacteria in a culture is proportional to the number present. In a certain laboratory experim
mezya [45]

Answer:

(a) N(t)=10000e^{(\frac{ln5}{10})t }

(b) 25,000

(c) 4.3068 min.

Step-by-step explanation:

Rate of change in the number of bacteria is proportional to the number present.

Let N is the population of bacteria.

\frac{dN}{dt} ∝ N ⇒ \frac{dN}{dt}=kt { k = proportionality constant}

initial population No. = 10,000

                          N(t_{1} ) = 20,000

         and N(t_{1}+10 )=100,000

(a) For population growth

N(t)=N_{0}e^{kt}=10000e^{kt}

N(t_1)=10,000e^{kt_1}=20,000

e^{kt}=2

ln(e^{kt_1})=ln(2)

kt_1=ln(2)

t_{1}=\frac{ln2}{k} ----------(1)

N(t_1+t_{10})=100,000

100,000=10,000e^{k(t_1+10)}

10=e^{k(t_1+10)}

ln10=ln[e^{k(t_1+10)}]

k(t_1+10)=ln10

k(t_1)=ln10-10k

t_1=\frac{ln10-10k}{k} ----------(2)

from equation (1) and (2)

\frac{ln_2}{k}=\frac{ln10-10k}{k}

ln10-ln2=10k

k=\frac{ln5}{10}

so expression will be

N(t)=10000e^{(\frac{ln5}{10})t }

(b) for t = 20

    N_{(20)}=10,000e\frac{ln5}{10}\times 20

             =  10,000\times e^{2ln5}

            = 10,000 × 25

            = 25,000

(c) Since t_1=\frac{ln2}{k}   [from equation (1)]

                  =\frac{ln2}{\frac{ln5}{10} }

                  =\frac{ln2}{ln5}\times 10

                  = 4.3068

                 = 4.3068 min.
