Answer:

Drainage divide

Explanation:

A drainage divide is the ridge that divides to drainage basins or sub-basins. A drainage divide, is an elevated area separating neighboring drainage basins. Therefore, in general the greater the drainage basin, the greater the river flow.

The divide occurs on rough land along topographical ridges, and may be in the form of a single set of hills or mountains, known as a dividing range.

Drainage divisions, whatever the scale, occur in elevated terrain like mountain ranges or hills.   In example, precipitation falling on one side of the divide will flow into one basin and precipitation falling on the other side will flow into another.

Answer:

drainage divide.

Explanation:

A drainage basin is a type of basin in which rain water collects on an area of land and later drains off into other water bodies such as river, bay, etc. A drain basin consists of a snowmelt, surface runoff, groundwater, etc. Drainage basin always connects with other basin at lower altitude and in a hierarchical pattern.

Drainage basin is also called impluvium, catchment basin, river basin, drainage area.

What are underwater trenches and how are they formed?
Rufina [12.5K]
Trenches are formed by subduction, a geophysical process in which two or more of Earth's tectonic plates converge and the older, denser plate is pushed beneath the lighter plate and deep into the mantle, causing the seafloor and outermost crust (the lithosphere) to bend and form a steep, V-shaped depression.

At divergent plate boundaries, earthquakes tend to be weak and shallow. Transform plate boundaries, have shallow, but very powerful earthquakes. At convergent plate boundaries, where two continental plates collide earthquakes are deep and also very powerful.

Recall that there are three types of plate boundaries: convergent, divergent, and transform. Volcanism occurs at convergent boundaries (subduction zones) and at divergent boundaries (mid-ocean ridges, continental rifts), but not commonly at transform boundaries.
Hope this helps :)
