The poem is about the skeletons who perform dance macabre at night. When their shrouds are opened in the graveyard, warder picks up one of them and skeleton does not return to the grave. It starts chasing the warder to the bell tower. Skeleton tries to kill the warder and at this moment god saves him when the skeleton breaks down into pieces. The story of the poem allegorically describes why it is not recommended to interfere with the supernatural activities.

In Totentanz,
"the skeleton corners the unfortunate Türmer, who quivers in cowardice, and is about to deliver a deathly blow when providence saves the Türmer just in time". The poem is about the skeletons of men and women who have died dance in the middle of the night. When their shrouds fall across the graveyard, the warder picks one up. When the dead try to go back into their tombs, the one whose shroud was taken stays awake. He seeks out the warder and seeks the warder's death unless he returns it.

 argumentative research paper on success
Elan Coil [88]

Answer:

In the society today, there is a common cultural belief that, money changes everything by making people feel respected, wealthy, content with life, and they experience ultimate happiness. Today, it is a common phenomenon to find people looking for more income, changing partners, changing neighborhoods, and changing jobs with the hope that they will get more satisfying jobs. There is a popular saying “money is not everything, but it is second to none to success”. There is a popular assertion that money can buy everything that man desires, but is this true? Is there a linear relationship between money and success? This argumentative essay will present arguments on the relationship between money and success.

I believe that money plays a significant role in the life of an individual, especially in terms of financial engagements, such as paying for medical bills, rent, education and entertainment. When these basic issues have been sorted out, then money can be positively related to success as people tend to satisfied and content in life. However, in my opinion, success is a blend of numerous factors. It is about having a goal oriented life. In my own opinion, I believe that people without goals are visionless in life. No matter how much money that one may have, it is virtually impossible to have true and genuine success in life. For one to succeed in life, it is essential to set objectives and goals to achieve in life. Therefore, true success in life is seldom achieved by chance, but by setting clear achievable goals.

In a recent study conducted to find out the most optimistic people in the world, most Americans equate wealth with success. They believe that the more money you have, the more successful you become in life. Having money is truly a rewarding experience. Many people believe that having lots of money provides one with a status symbol and brings freedom, power and many material things in life. There are numerous examples of men who have been regarded as wealthy and successful as a result of having a lot of Money such as Larry Ellison, Mark Zuckerberg, Warren Buffet, Vladimir Lisin, and Paul Allen among others. However, on the contrary, most of these men have been documented to lead miserable lives because the power and affluence are not the genuine recipes for success.

The pursuit for money is like a “mirage” or like chasing the wind. Many people who crave for success spent most of their active life making money and forget the essential things in life; happiness and health. They become enslaved to riches and get addicted to money, and in the process they lose their self esteem, admiration and respect that true wealth brings. Although money has been positively linked to success, proper management and knowledge of financial management is essential. Therefore, this justifies my thesis statement that money may not be everything.  It can only be a by-product but not the true measure of success.

CONCLUSION

There is a popular saying “money is the source of all evil”. However, I do not agree with this assumption because money in itself is neither harmful nor good. In fact, having money or the desire to make money is a powerful motivation for success. However, the association of money and success should not be regarded as the absolute truth. This is because the real indicators of success are strong relationships, robust health and self improvement. In fact, research studies on the impact of money and success have shown that, people who value material things in life tend to be less happy, and less content in life. This is because they never have enough and are always chasing for more money, and disregarding the little things in life which provide ultimate happiness and success.
