Explanation:  Thoreau was a philosopher, writer and devotee of nature. His philosophy was based on independence, freedom of mind. He felt that the government was restricting people from taking care of themselves, their needs. He was not an anarchist but believed in minimal, almost no governmental restrictions.

He considered the rule of the majority is not good, because it implied the compulsion of having to go with the group and follow the rules of the group, which was restrictive for him. The only obligation, according to Thoreau, was to follow his conscience. That way, he would only do what he thought was right, and he would be obliged to do only what was right.

Give at least two reasons why some people claim the Pyramids of Giza were constructed by aliens.
loris [4]

This is a very controversial topic and many researchers,  pseudo scientists and conspiracy theorists believe that Pyramids could not have been build by the human hand. One reason would be the location. Place where they were built is far away from the nearest source of stone they used to build them. According to the researchers it is impossible to transport that amount of stones with the equipment they had at the time. The second reason would be the shape of the pyramid. According to the laws of physics, the stones could not be lifted at that height and placed at that angle .

marissa [1.9K]

The Temple of Confucius is a temple complex in Beijing dedicated to the great philosopher Confucius.

When the Mongols conquered China, they only after a considerable time realized that it would be good for Chinese officials to be on their side. And then they presented to their new capital the Temple of Confucius, the predecessor of the present. The church acquired its present appearance only in 1906, when the doomed Qing dynasty decided to raise the authority of the cult of Confucius to oppose its influence of Christianity. The main project was larger than before, the sacrificial hall, completed only in 1916, after the fall of the dynasty. I hope it helps you!!!
