This is easy. Just count all the rectangles and you know it will be that many out of 1.

20 squares in the first one, so 1/4 <span>÷ 5 = 1/20

12 squares int he second one, so 1/2 </span><span>÷ 6 = 1/12</span>

\frac{1}{4} ÷ 5
= \frac{1}{4}  x \frac{1}{5} 
= \frac{1}{20} 
OR just look at the picture and count the shaded one ... \frac{1}{20} 

\frac{1}{2} ÷ 6 
= \frac{1}{2}  x \frac{1}{6} 
= \frac{1}{12} 
OR just look at the picture and count the shaded one ... \frac{1}{12}
