In his speech Booker T. Washington urges blacks and whites alike to cast down your bucket where you are. What does this mean?
mr_godi [17]
To cast down your bucket where you are means that you don't need to travel far in order to find what you are looking for - there are many valuable resources exactly where you are.
What Washington is trying to say here is that he wants both black and white people to work together and rebuild the South in order to make it prosperous and forget about their differences.

Which character from Antigone by Sophocles is a stock character?
Natasha2012 [34]

Answer:

  •   Creon: He is an archetypal villain because his announcement to bury Polyneices is the catalyst for the misfortune which composes the plot of the story. A stock character is an archetypal character whose purpose is to move the story along allowing the audience to quickly understand the character.
  • A tragic flaw: It´s a literary device that can be defined as a trait in a character, usually the hero, that leads him to downfall. This characteristic could be the lack of self-knowledge or judgment and, as the story here analyzed, the pride.
  • Ismene refuses to help her sister bury Polyneices: Ismene decides to go against the divine authority by not defending her family´s honor, but she obeys the human authorities because she´s more afraid of what they can do to her.

Write an article for publication in a national newspaper on the causes of teenage pregnancy
Nadya [2.5K]

Answer:

This study used linkable administrative databases housed at the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy (MCHP). The original cohort consisted of 17,115 women born in Manitoba between April 1, 1979 and March 31, 1994, who stayed in the province until at least their 20th birthday, had at least one older sister, and had no missing values on key variables. Propensity score matching (1:2) was used to create balanced cohorts for two conditional logistic regression models; one examining the impact of an older sister’s teenage pregnancy and the other analyzing the effect of the mother’s teenage childbearing.
