80/90 reduce by dividing both numerator and denominator by 10

80 ÷ 10 = 8

90 ÷ 10 = 9

80/90 = 8/9

Hope this helps. :-)

Researchers interested in lead exposure due to car exhaust sampled the blood of 52 police officers subjected to constant inhalat
ella [17]

Step-by-step explanation:

n = 52

x bar = 122.31

standard deviation sd = 38.75

1. the hypothesis:

null hypothesis

h0: μ ≤ 35

alternative hypothesis

h1: μ > 35

2.

we have been given the sd of the sample but not that of the population. so what we are supposed to use here is the t test and not the z test. the following conditions have to be met.

  • population has to be normal
  • sample size has to be more than 30. we have sample size = 52 in this question.

3.

= \frac{122.31-35}{38.75/\sqrt{52} }

= 87.31/5.37

= 16.26

using the T distribution function in excel, the p value was calculated and found to be approximately equal to 0.

TDIST(16.26, 51, 1)

since p value is very small we reject the null and accept the alternate hypothesis.

4. from the result above the answer to this question is yes

Ezra is filling bottles of water to hand out during a race. Each bottle of water holds 16 ounces and he has 4,005 ounces of filt
Oksi-84 [34.3K]

So just by the question, we are aware that when we divide 4,005 ounces by 16, it is not going to be a pretty number - there are going to be some left over in the form of a fraction.

First we must find out how many of these bottles can be completely filled until there is only the small fraction left that is not able to fill up a bottle. So let's divide:

\frac{4,005}{16}=250.3125

And now we know that 250 bottles will be filled completely. To find the amount of ounces left over, let's see how many ounces 250 bottles is:

250*16=4,000

There are 4,000 ounces in 250 bottles. So we need to subtract our initial amount from this known amount:

4,005-4,000=5

So there are only 5 ounces of water remaining after 250 bottles are completely filled. To put this into a fraction of the original amount, we just divide by the initial amount (4,005):

\frac{5}{4,005} =\frac{1}{801}

If the question is asking for the remainder in terms of a bottle, we just divide these 5 ounces by the 16 ounces it would take to fill this bottle:

\frac{5}{16}

This would look like 6x/11. Since the problem doesn’t state the answer then you would simply write the expression.
