Consider a specific chemical reaction represented by the equation aA + bB → cC + dD. In this equation the letters A, B, C, and D

represent chemicals, and the letters a, b, c, and d represent coefficients in the balanced equation. How many possible values are there for the quantity "c"?

Answer:

The answer to your question is:  c = a + b - d

Explanation:

                           aA  +   bB   →   cC   +   dD

c could have any number from 1 to the number necessary in order that the

    equation be balanced.

        For example

                                 c + d = a + b

                                 c = a + b - d

If a = 1; b = 3   and d = 2

then                        c = 1 + 3 - 2

                              c = 2,

etc.

Balance H2 + O2 - H2O
sweet-ann [11.9K]
Currently in this equation, you have 2 hydrogen atoms and 2 oxygen atoms on the left, and then 2 hydrogen atoms and 1 oxygen atom on the right. To balance, you would need to even out the oxygens, so we can first place a 2 in front of H2O to get:
H2 + O2 -> 2H2O

Now, however, you can see that we have too many hydrogen atoms on the right, so to get the final answer, we add a 2 in front of hydrogen on the left:

2H2 + O2 -> 2H2O

I hope this helps!

A large piece of cork has a density of 0.251 g/cm3 and a volume of 1000.0 cm3. Calculate the mass of the cork.
Archy [21]

Answer:

251 g

Explanation:

The mass of a substance when given the density and volume can be found by using the formula

mass = Density × volume

From the question we have

mass = 0.251 × 1000

We have the final answer as

251 g

Hope this helps you
