Martial law.

Heavy penalties against terrorist organizations.

Explanation:

The South lost its battle in the Civil War but did not lose its spirit when it came to deal with the North people and former slaves. The  Confederate veterans organised the Ku Klux Klan after the reconstruction period and scared Republican and African Americans. The main agenda was to bring back the white supremacy. As they began to grow powerful and fearless in the South,  President Ulysses S. Grant issued Acts to suppress state disorders. The Third Force Act or Ku Klux Act issued in 1871 that led to martial law in southern states. Thousands of KKK members arrested.

How do you think the immigration and nationality act of 1965 changed political activity in the nation?
Zielflug [23.3K]
The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 got rid of the quota system for immigrants coming into the US. Before this act, there was only a certain amount of immigrants allowed into the US based on their nation of origin.

With this new act in place, immigration increased rapidly. This was especially true for individuals who were living in countries that were war stricken (like the ones in Southeast Asia). This increase in population probably worried some Americans, as individuals were coming from countries where the US was currently involved in a war (example- Vietnam). However, it really depends on the specific group of people you are studying as all American react differently to laws.
