I may be totally wrong, but from what I remember in Rome history, they started the republic in 509 BCE which caused them to overthrow their king <span>Lucius Tarquinius Superbus. This may have inspired American colonists and thinkers int he late 1700's to rebel against what King George was saying and start their own country. </span>
It was "d. the commerce clause" that particularly alarmed Antifederalists, since this gave the federal government power to regulate trade not only with other nations but between the states.
