Trade winds are both driven by both North and South Equatorial currents, those are transporting warm ocean-surface water in that direction. Generally Equatorial under currents and Equatorial counter currents returns some warm water to eastward.
The trade winds of two hemispheres cover the west-east zone located near the equator is called the Inter tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ)
They are different because of there population or because of there environment but they are also the same because they both are strongly reliant on agriculture for there exports and income!! Hope that helped:))
