b^5 divided by a^2

I don't know how to do the fraction thingy on this thing but to explain it, since a has a negative exponent it has to move to the denominator for this equation to work. That is why the b^2 is on top and the a^2 on the bottone. Once the a^-2 goes to the bottom, it loses the negative sign.

remember that a^{-b}=\frac{1}{a^b}

so

a^{-2}b^5=

(\frac{1}{a^2})(b^5)=

\frac{b^5}{a^2}

Find f(-1), f(0), f(3) for the following function.<br> f(x)=3x<br> f(-1)=Blank
kramer

Answer:

If f(x) = 3x, this means that any number that replaces x in the parenthesis, would replace x in the right side too.

When x = -1:

f(-1) = 3(-1) = -3

When x = 0:

f(0) = 3(0) = 0

When x = 3:

f(3) = 3(3) = 9

How to do you find the constant of variation when it’s a direct variation?
ololo11 [35]

Answer:

The constant of variation in a direct variation is the constant (unchanged) ratio of two variable quantities. The formula for direct variation is. y = k x (or y = k x ) where k is the constant of variation . Example 1: If y varies directly as x and y = 15 when x = 24 , find x when y = 25 .

A car's velocity is modeled by
Igoryamba

In accordance with the function <em>velocity</em>, the car will have a complete stop after 6 seconds.

<h3>When does the car stop?</h3>

Herein we have a function of the velocity of a car (v), in feet per second, in terms of time (t), in seconds. The car stops for t > 0 and v = 0, then we have the following expression:

0.5 · t² - 10.5 · t + 45 = 0

t² - 21 · t + 90 = 0

By the <em>quadratic</em> formula we get the following two roots: t₁ = 15, t₂ = 6. The <em>stopping</em> time is the <em>least</em> root of the <em>quadratic</em> equation, that is, the car will have a complete stop after 6 seconds.
