Moorcroft’s assistant controller suggested that Moorcroft hire a part time collector to encourage customers to pay more promptly

and to reduce the amount of uncollectible accounts. Sales are still 40% cash and 60% credit but the assistant controller predicted that this would cause credit sales to be collected 30% in the month of the sale, 50% in the month following sale, and 18% in the second month following sale; 2% are uncollectible.Prepare a schedule of expected collections from customers for June. How did these changes impact cash collections?

Answer:

The budgeted sales are missing, so I looked for them. I found the following question, hopefully it will be similar:

Month        Sales

April           $300,000

May            $320,000

June           $370,000

Schedule of expected collections

For the month of June, 202x

Cash sales during June = $370,000 x 40% = $148,000

Collection from June's credit sales = $222,000 x 30% = $66,600

Collection from May's credit sales = $192,000 x 50% = $96,000

Collection from April's credit sales = $180,000 x 18% = $32,400

Total cash collections during June = $343,000

Since the cost of the part time collector is $1,000 per month, and the total uncollectible accounts reduce from 4% to 2%, which represents $7,400 for June's sales, I would recommend hiring the collector.

The accounting hired by Forever Fitness have determined total fixed cost to be $75,000, total variable cost to be $130,000, and
yan [13]

Answer:

Option D. Shut down because staying open would be more expensive.

Explanation:

The reason is that the total variable cost is lower than the total revenue which means the company can not reduce its variable cost so it is meaningless to produce the product. So the best option left is not to generate loss by simply shutting down the business.

Explain why a relative price is an opportunity cost. The money price of a pound of bananas is $0. 90 and the money price of a tu
dimaraw [331]

The opportunity cost is stated in relative pricing, that is, the price of one option in comparison to another.

When there are numerous vendors in a market but no one is significant enough to control the price of a product. Because both items must be produced, the relative price must match the opportunity cost. If the opportunity cost of one good is lower in the home country than so will be the relative price.

As bananas cost $0.90 per kg, so, if  a toothpaste is  for $2.25, we are forgoing 2.25 kgs banana (2.25/0.9). Thus, the opportunity cost is 2.5 kg bananas which is equal to the relative price of bananas.

Therefore, relative price is an opportunity cost.

eimsori [14]

Answer:

A) federal funds rate

Explanation:

At the end of every day, banks are required to have a certain percentage of deposits on hand (the government sets the amount so that banks don't loan out all of their money at once). In order to have the right amount on hand, banks loan each other money at the federal funds rate of interest.
