What is dramatic irony

English
1 answer:
lana66690 [7]3 years ago

Dramatic irony is like something that expresses the opposite of whats expected. Like the boy cried wolf is kinda like an example. It was ironic that she cried wolf every time and then a wolf actual came and nobody helped. . Dramatic irony is when the reader knows something the character doesent. We knew the wolf would eventually come, but the character didnt. Did that help any?

How are the sisters similar to other archetypal antagonists
MaRussiya [10]

According to a different source, this question refers to the play "Antigone."

In Antigone, we meet two sisters, Antigone and Ismene. The sisters have recently lost their two brothers. Normally, this would mean that the sisters will mourn them and give them the funeral rites that are traditional in this situation. However, Creon, the king of Thebes, has outlawed this.

The sisters are similar to other archetypal antagonists because they are diametrically opposed to each other. While Antigone believes that the right thing to do is to disregard the law and take care of her brothers, Ismene believes that the law is supreme and should not be trifled with.

Marysya12 [62]

In the simplest sense, positive means good or the opposite of negative. If you have a positive attitude about homework, for example, you're more likely to get positive feedback on your report card.

6. REREAD Reread lines 80-87. In what way is Lincoln's death a
rewona [7]

Answer:

Yes, Lincoln's death affected Douglass.

Explanation:

Both Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass wanted to abolish slavery. They both were fighting a common fight which had divided the nation.

Douglass always looked up to Lincoln and his ways. They both even spoke about abolishing slavery from the nation completely. So, after Lincoln's death, Douglass had lost a friend. Still he carried out Lincoln's work speaking against social injustice and racial discrimination. He demanded equal rights for African Americans.

Thus, Lincoln's death was also a calamity for the nation as African-Americans had lost a leader who led them fighting for their rights and justice.
