The purpose of stem and leaf plot is to show the data distribution while retaining its uniqueness. Stem and leaf plot shows the raw values by retaining the original data. It is usually recommended for batches between 15 and 150 data points.
In Stem and Leaf plot, the leaves are usually the last digit of a data, which stems are the remaining digits. For example if we have 2 number suppose 171 and 176, then in stem and leaf plot, as 17 is common, it can be the stem, while last digits of both numbers i.e 1 and 6 are leaves. It can be written as:
