The average summer temperatures in the Southern Hemisphere are cooler than the average summer temperatures in the Northern Hemis
Olegator [25]

The reason why the average summer temperature in the Southern chemosphere is cooler than the average summer in the Northern hemisphere is that over 80% of the Southern Hemisphere is covered with water.

Why are summers in the Southern hemisphere cooler?

Over 80% of the Southern Hemisphere is made up of water in the form of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. This leads to the southern hemisphere having lower temperatures in the summer which makes them cooler.

The reason this happens is that water absorbs temperatures and makes the surrounding areas cooler. This is why places closer to the coast are cooler than areas further inland.

The Northern hemisphere is not as covered by oceans as the southern hemisphere thanks to larger expanse of land occupied by the Asian continent and further by Europe and North America.

As a result, summers are warmer on average there than in the Southern hemisphere.

The movement of a tectonic plate away from a mid-ocean ridge can be measured by the orientation of the _______ field.
Crazy boy [7]

Answer:

geomagnetic field.

Explanation:

The earth magnetic field can be likened to a bar magnet with a North and South pole. It originates from the movement of molten iron and nickel in the outer core.

At every point in time, the magnetic field orientation can change. We must note that the magnetic north lies close to that of geographic north axis of the earth.

Around the mid-oceanic ridges, new materials are brought to the surface. These new materials can contain magnetic minerals such as haematite which are capable of being magnetized as a result of the prevalent magnetic field of the earth. As different materials are brought up, the magnetic minerals preserves the details of the magnetic field at that point in time. Using this information can know the orientation of the magnetic field at any point in time if the magnetic history chart of the earth is constructed. Oceanic ridges becomes older as they move away from the divergent margins.

I want to build a hot tub and a deck to go around it….the hot tub has a diameter of 12 ft. I want my rectangular deck to go arou
Pachacha [2.7K]

Answer:

206.9 square feet

Explanation:

We know that the amount of wood purchased has to equal the area of the deck minus the area of the hot tub.

Lets find the area of the hot tub.

d/2=r\\12/2=6\\\\A=\pi r^{2}\\A=\pi*6^2\\A=36\pi\\

Lets make pi equal to 3.141

A=36*3.141\\A=113.076     ft^2

Now lets find the area of the deck.

A=l*w\\A=20*16\\A=320 ft^2

Subtract the area of the hot tub from the deck.

320-113.076=206.924 ft^2
