Answer:

They are caused by an increase in global temperatures

Explanation:

Global warming will cause a change in the weather patterns of a region – called climate change. A place could experience extreme weather such  as increased dryness or wetness.  This is mainly due to takeup of this heat by the oceans hence influencing global currents.

As the oceans become warmer, they are able to absorb more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. This causes these water to have a higher acidity than normal because of the formation of carbonic acid.

What type of mutation is shown in the sequence below
almond37 [142]

Answer:

Single nucleotide deletion

Explanation:

Original DNA sequence:

A T A C G G T A

T A T G C C A T

Mutated DNA sequence:

A T C G G T A G

T A G C C A T C

In the mutated sequence, there is a nucleotide missing. It goes from ATACGGTA to ATCGGTAG. The A nucleotide is gone. This represents a single base pair deletion.

Even though it is only one base, this changes the way the entire sequence is interpreted. The DNA transcribed into an mRNA and then translated into a protein by reading triplet codons which correspond to specific amino acids.

So while the initial sequence would be read as:

ATA, CGG, TA...

The new sequence would be read as:

ATC, GGT, AG...

So the sequence of the protein is completely altered.

Helium has an atomic number of 2. Is the model of the helium atom above is
77julia77 [94]

Answer:

Yes, the model of the helium atom is showing an ion.

Explanation:

Helium, with an atomic number of 2, should have 2 protons and 2 electrons; however, the model only depicts 1 electron. That means the helium must have lost an electron, making it a +1 charge and an ion.
