Answer:

She needs to finish in 48.7 percent of the time it normally takes her

Step-by-step explanation:

6th grade math problem

swim 15 minutes 45 seconds

bike ride   45 minutes

She want to complete the 3 events in 70 minutes

swim + bike + run = 70

15 minutes 45 seconds + 45 minutes + run = 70 minutes

Combine like terms

60 minutes 45 seconds +  run = 70 minutes

Subtract 60 minutes 45 seconds from each side

60 minutes 45 seconds - 50 minutes 45 seconds +  run = 70 minutes - 60 minutes 45 seconds

run = 9 minutes 15 seconds

Her training run was 19 minutes

The percent of time she needs to take is time to finish / training run time

percent = 9 minutes 15 seconds/ 19 minutes

We need to put this in minutes.  There are 60 seconds in 1 minute

9 minutes 15 seconds =  9 minutes  15/60 = 9.25 minutes

percent = 9.25 minutes / 19 minutes

percent = .486842105

percent = 48.7 percent

She needs to finish in 48.7 percent of the time it normally takes her

The triangles below are similar. What is the length of ? A. 17 cm C. 19 cm B. 18 cm D. 20 cm
denis-greek [22]

Answer:

B. 18 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Because they are similar, we can say that segment AC corresponds to segment DF, and segment AB corresponds to segment ED. So, we can set up a proportion.

\frac{16}{24} =\frac{12}{x}

\frac{2}{3} =\frac{12}{x}

2 * x = 12 * 3

2x = 36

x = 18

So, the length of ED is B. 18 cm.

Hope this helps!

Simplify 6(x + 2) + 7.
Elina [12.6K]

Answer:

6x+19

Step-by-step explanation:

First thing first, we need to multiply the 6 into the equation. We do this by multiplying the x and 2 by 6.

6(x+2)+7

Multiply

6x+12+7

Now we need to combine like terms by adding the 12 and 7

6x+19

There it is simplified.
