Age of jack is 11 years.

Option - a

<u>SOLUTION: </u>

Given that, Jack's father is 4 times as old as Jack.

To find: youngest age that Jack could be.

The sum of their ages is no less than 55.

Let the age of jack be n years, then his father’s age will be 4n years.

Now, we are given that, sum of ages =55 \rightarrow n+4 n=55 \rightarrow 5 n=55 \rightarrow n=11

Important Statements and Equations for "Problems based on Ages":

  1. If the present age is y, then n times the present age = ny
  2. If the present age is x, then age n years later/hence = x + n
  3. If the present age is x, then age n years ago = x-n
  4. The ages in a ratio a: b will be ax and bx
  5. If the current age is y, then 1/n of the age is \frac{y}{n}

Area of a triangle two sides of which are 18 cm and 12 cm <br><br>and the perimeter is 44 cm.
cestrela7 [59]

Answer:

≈ 83.9 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Given:</u>

  • P = a+b+c = 44 cm
  • a = 18 cm
  • b = 12 cm

<u>Then:</u>

  • c= P -(a+b) = 44 -(18+12) = 14 cm

<u>Area of  the triangle is found by using Herons formula:</u>

  • A = √s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c),

where s = P/2 = 44/2 = 22 cm

  • A = √22(22-18)(22-12)(22-14) = √22*4*10*8= √7040 ≈ 83.9 cm²

Select the correct answer.<br> Which function has the same graph as x + y = 11?
djyliett [7]

The function that have the same graph as x + y = 11 is the function 3x + 3y = 33

<h3>What is an equation?</h3>

An equation is an expression that shows the relationship between two or more numbers and variables.

An independent variable is a variable that does not depends on other variable while a dependent variable is a variable that depends on other variable.

Given the function, x + y = 11. To get another function with the same graph, multiply by a constant:

(x + y) * 3 = 11 * 3

3x + 3y = 33

The function that have the same graph as x + y = 11 is the function 3x + 3y = 33
