The persona wanted to be honest about her feelings for going away. She does not regret any of it. In fact, there is a hint of anger (just a slight hint) in the way she worded the lines. In the beginning, the tone is somewhat nostalgic, as set by the first line. Then it becomes stronger, bolder, almost aggressive as she talks about her independence from "male supremacy"
