Answer:

Writers of epics typically start their poems with an invocation to the Muse.

Explanation:

In Greek mythology, there were nine Muses. The Muses were the goddesses of the arts, including poetry. The Muses themselves were skilled in their art and, through it, were able to have mankind forget their troubles. Writers of epic poems, such as Homer, the author of The Iliad and The Odyssey, would begin their work by invoking the Muse of poetry. They would ask the Muse to inspire them, to give them the necessary knowledge to complete their work. The invocation below was taken from The Odyssey:

“Tell me, Muse, of the man of many ways, who was driven

far journeys, after he had sacked Troy’s sacred citadel.

many were they whose cities he saw, whose minds he learned of,

many the pains he suffered in his spirit on the wide sea,

struggling for his own life and the homecoming of his companions.

Even so he could not save his companions, hard though

he strove to; they were destroyed by their own wild recklessness,

fools, who devoured the oxen of Helios, the Sun God,

and he took away the day of their homecoming. From some point

here, goddess, daughter of Zeus, speak, and begin our story.”

Answer: They often start with an invocation to their muse.

Explanation: The narrative poem style known as epic poem focuses on the maneuvers of a hero, they often start with an invocation to their muse, such mused being a god or goddess which inspired them. For example the famous epic poem known as "The Iliad," opens with a request for the goddess of poetry to sing.

A) use an adjective to describe the behavior of most people in the passage
Pani-rosa [81]

Adjectives are words used to describe, show the characteristics of something.

You didn't show the excerpt that this question refers to, which makes it impossible for me to show you the adjective you need, but I'll show you how to find that adjective.

As stated above, an adjective is a word that shows the characteristics of something. Examples of adjectives are the words: ugly, beautiful, noisy, apprehensive, nervous, small, happy, indifferent, excited, silent, among others.

In this case, to answer your question you must:

Identify the way people, described in the text, behave.

Find the word that best represents this type of behavior.

In this case, we can conclude that the function of the adjective is to describe, and by trying to describe the behavior of the population, you will be able to find the adjective you need.

Please write a book summary
gladu [14]

Answer:

Les Misérables by Victor Hugo

Explanation:

So this one is fairly different from the other one, it's a book that was originally written in French. It's about a man named Jean who goes to jail for a long time for stealing bread. He later gets out years later, and struggles finding shelter and a job because he used to be in jail. Anyways, he meets a guy who offers him shelter, and Jean later steals his silver to sell it, the man finds out but kind of allows him because he knows he's suffering.

This is all I know so far because I'm not done reading it, (it's a very big book) but I like it so far.

Also the book was written in 1845, it's old, but interesting. :D
