The British weaknesses is a subject studied by historians.

But how was it possible if the Britain's military was the best in the world. Theirs soldiers were well equipped, well disciplined, well paid and well and well feed.

However it was a situation which they had to confront. It does refer the British fought a war far from home. Military orders, troops and supplies sometimes took months to reach their destinations. It means that the British had an extremely difficult objective.

In summary, the geographic vastness of the colonies proved a hindrance to the british effort. Despite occupying every mayor city, the British remained as at a disadvantage.

How did protestant ministers respond to women's suffrage in the nineteenth century?
Komok [63]
That depends which "Protestant ministers" you would have in mind. Protestantism has wide disparities within its ranks, and not all were on the same page. In the 19th century, most churches still stood against women's equality. But movements toward women's suffrage included many Protestant women, and beginning in the late 19th century liberal Protestantism was more likely to be in support of such movements. However, there remained (and still remain) many very conservative and traditional Protestant churches that are averse to giving women an equal role with men, basing their views on interpretations of Bible verses about men and women. They've tended to acknowledge women voting in political society as a reality, but keep women in a secondary place within the church's organization.

Catholic leaders in the 19th century maintained that women's suffrage was "an affront to divine law and the natural order and a threat to family and society," according to Susan Hill Lindley in the book, You Have Stepped Out of Your Place: A History of Women and Religion in America (1996).

What measures did the government take to spark the economy after the war?
Oxana [17]
Prior to the conclusion of the Seven Years War there was little, if any, reason to believe that one day the American colonies would undertake a revolution in an effort to create an independent nation-state. As apart of the empire the colonies were protected from foreign invasion by the British military. In return, the colonists paid relatively few taxes and could engage in domestic economic activity without much interference from the British government. For the most part the colonists were only asked to adhere to regulations concerning foreign trade. In a series of acts passed by Parliament during the seventeenth century the Navigation Acts required that all trade within the empire be conducted on ships which were constructed, owned and largely manned by British citizens. Certain enumerated goods whether exported or imported by the colonies had to be shipped through England regardless of the final port of destination.
