Answer:

The answer is False.

Explanation:

Gneiss is framed inside high-review local changeable procedures from prior arrangements that were initially either volcanic or sedimentary rocks. It is comprised of layers of sheet-like planar structures that are portrayed by rotating darker and lighter hued groups, called "gneissic banding".

False. Gneiss is formed within high-grade regional metamorphic processes from pre-existing formations that were originally either igneous or sedimentary rocks. It is made up of layers of sheet-like planar structures that are characterized by alternating darker and lighter colored bands, called "gneissic banding".

Researchers conducted an experiment to investigate the effects of a valinomycin treatment on skeletal muscle cells. Valinomycin
Mariulka [41]

The valinomycin treatment caused a decrease in the activity of the mitochondria.

Explanation:

When valinomycin treatment was given, the rate of ATP production is reduced in the cells treated. Since mitochondria are involved in ATP synthesis, it clearly shows that valinomycin inhibits mitochondrial action.

Valinomycin being a selective K+ ionophore, it can transfer potassium ions through selective lipid membranes. This can cause potassium effux in organelles like mitochondria leading to marked loss of potential of mitochondrial membrane and apoptosis in cells.

The effux of K+ ions forms a complex with valinomycin and slows down the mitochondrial part of ATP synthesis by reducing the proton-motive force, but does not block any oxygen electron transfer .

A genetic cross with two genes produces 400 offspring, and 20 of them have recombinant phenotypes. What is the recombination fre
sp2606 [1]

Linkage refers to the tendency of inhertance of the DNA sequences that are close together on a chromosome during the meiosis of sexual reproduction. It can be measured by the recombination frequency.

Recombination frequency describes the proportion of recombinant offsrpring produced in a genetic cross between two organisms. It is the frequency with which a single chromosomal cross over takesplace between two genes during the process of meiosis. Recombination frequency (RF) is given by

RF= Recombinants /total offspring  x 100.

In the above example, the number of recombinant offspring is 20 and the total offspring is 400. By substituting these values,

RF= 20/400 x100

= 5.

The recombination frequency for the above cross is 5.
