• There is a proper mechanism of controlling the levels of various kinds of hormones and chemicals in our body called as positive feedback and negative feedback.
 • In a very simple language you can understand it as whenever there is a release of a particular hormone or chemical inside the body in very huge amount then the negative feedback of the body is activated the production of that particular hormone or chemical is stopped and vice -versa for negative feedback.
 • Explanation:positive feedback and negative both the feedback mechanism are achieved to maintain the proper homeostasis.
 • Example: release of clotting factor after blood loss is a positive feedback and a hormone is released and then suddenly there is a increase in hormone b, then the amount of hormone a will decrease this is a negative feedback.

Can someone please describe the role of fermentation in maintaining ATP and NAD+ levels? I cant fully grasp the concept. Answer
Solnce55 [7]
Fermentation is the process by which a carbohydrate molecule is broken down into alcohol and carbon dioxide in the absence of oxygen. During this process, two molecules of ATP is produced. In the absence of oxygen, pyruvate formed from glycolysis will undergo fermentation process. During the process of fermentation, NADH from glycolysis will be converted back to NAD+. This is necessary in order for glycolysis to continue. Thus, fermentation regenerate more NAD+ and only a few molecule of ATP.

Which of the following is a eukaryotic cell?

Select all that apply
zhuklara [117]

Hi there!

The most important thing to note here is that eukaryotic cells have nuclei. This is the circular blob-like organelle which encases the DNA. Some other differences eukaryotic cells have over prokaryotic cells include more complicated organelles which are membrane bound.

If we look at these images, what we are looking for is a nuclei, as this will appear most evident. When we look at A and B, we can see a circular organelle that is extremely prominent. However, with C and D, that does not appear. C specifically, the nucleic code is exposed and not membrane bound, meaning it is not prokaryotic. D does not appear to contain a nucleus or any genetic material.

Thus, your answer is A and B.

Hope this helps!
