You can say on your slide your opinion about whether you think universities in the United States should be paid or free.

In my opinion, I believe that all universities should be free, because we all should have a good education, so the world could be a better place, with people better informed and with an advanced education level. Your financial situation should not determinate your future, everyone should have to study wherever they wanted to. There are subsidies, and also scholarships; some colleges up to 100%, but maybe that college is not what you really wanted and you end up depriving yourself of your dream. You can to opt for loans, but will you have the money to pay for it later, or will you get in default? Will you find vacancies in your future area of employment? It is something you can not know, it is completely uncertain, that's why universities should be for free.

However, on the other hand, if all the universities were free and depended on the Government, perhaps the equipments will be not of as good quality as they could be, and with teaching could happen the same thing. So, would all universities be on the same level? It is possible, and that way many people who would have the chance to gain a wider knowledge on their area, as they can afford a college, would end up being harmed.

Overall, I think that it can still exist paid colleges, but there should be more for free. Some might charge only for taxes and tuition, as this would make the teaching better and all the equipments as well. Inequality, unfortunately, is inevitable in some cases, and this is one of them - unless the Government's investment in education would be really grandious, which we know the chance of happening is not so great.

Sorry for taking so long to answer, hope I've helped you.

What is a difference between Gertrude's description of Ophelia's drowning and the painting of the same scene? A) There is nothin
bagirrra123 [75]

Answer:

C) She looks peaceful and serene in the painting, but the play says she met a "muddy death."

Explanation:

In William Shakespeare's <em>Hamlet</em>, Ophelia is the daughter of Polonius and the sister of Laertes, and also the lover of Hamlet. She became insane after the death of her father and the loss of Hamlet who has also seemingly become insane due to his grief of his own father's death.

Act IV scene vii of the play shows Gertrude bringing the news of Ophelia's death to Laertes. And while describing the drowning scene of Ophelia, Gertrude mentions that she was<em> "clambering to hang"</em> the flowery wreaths on a branch of a tree when it gave way and she was dumped into the brook. She was then pulled further into the water when <em>"her garments, heavy with their drink,  Pulled the poor wretch from her melodious lay  To muddy death."</em> This shows a rather unsettling and painful death.

On the contrary, the painting of Ophelia's death by Sir John Everett Millais, a British artist, shows her peacefully floating on the water with flowers around her. Her eyes were slightly open and a calm expression on her face, with hardly any sign of pain in it.
