The 5 key elements that make a narrative strong are:

  1. The character that takes part in the story.
  2. The setting, which is the time and place where the story happens.
  3. The plot, which is the series of events that relate to the main conflict of the story.
  4. The conflict, which is the struggle between 2 characters of the story. This commonly refers to a hero and a villain.  
  5. The theme, which is a central idea by which the whole story is narrated.
